SUMMARY A group of 399 children 6–12 years of age were examined in November 1935 as to the distinction power at 2 different schools with quite different economical standard of the parents at each school. The examination on the same but a somewhat smaller number of children was repeated at the end of March and August 1936. The Westend school children showed the highest normal figures with 72%, 47% and 81% at the 3 different time of the year mentioned. The Eastend school children showed just 33%, 37% and 62% normal figures at the same time of the year respectively. At the end of March both schools showed the lowest normal result, and at the end of August, just after the sum‐mervaccation, both schools the highest number of normal dark vision.
