Summary 1. The method of production of amyloid is described briefly. 2. Powdered whole liver added to the diet markedly retards the formation of amyloid. 3. A similar effect is produced by the addition of vitamins A and B in combination to the diet. 4. Cholesterol, two liver extracts, and ground beef exert no such effects. 5. Powdered whole liver added to the diet brings about the resorption of previously formed amyloid already deposited in the organs in moderate amounts. 6. The rôle of the reticulo‐endothelial system in the production of amyloidosis is briefly discussed. 7. The inter‐relation of the powdered whole liver and the reticulo‐endothelial system in the resorption of amyloid is suggested and discussed briefly.
