Aulascoscelinae, a small, neotropical subfamily of Chrysomelidae (Coleoptera), is almost unknown cytologi‐cally. Although most male Aulacoscelis melanocera have 11+XO meioformula (corresponding to 2n = 23; X), with “nucleolus” attached to X, one male exhibited a condition best interpreted as ll + Xy p , with an unstable sex chromosome association.
