A patient with a ring chromosome 13 is presented and compared with previously reported cases analyzed by banding techniques. The patient displayed many of the clinical stigmata characteristic of the ring 13 syndrome. By analyses of early mitotic stages (prometaphase and late prophase chromosomes), the breakpoint on the long arm of chromosome 13 was tentatively localized to band q33, and an attempt at phenotype‐karyotype correlation was made.
