The mutation frequency in the pollen character waxy of barley and maize was investigated after different irradiations. Altogether 17 experimental series are presented, 8 of which have been published earlier. The experiments indicate that the RBE of fast neutrons is lower than 3. It seems probable that lower doses are more mutagenic than higher ones per dose unit.
