Utilization of the quinacrine mustard fluorescence technique supported by photoelectric recordings, and a modified Giemsa staining technique with trypsin pretreatment has made possible an accurate analysis of the cattle chromosomes. All individual chromosome pairs have been identified, and the most clear‐cut distinguishing characteristics have been described.
