The immunosuppression that follows exposure to ultraviolet\udradiation (UVR) is generated by complex multistep pathways\udthat have been only partially elucidated. The process starts with\udcutaneous chromophores and most likely ends with the\udamplification of subsets of T-regulatory cells. Considerable\udefforts have been made to identify the roles of Langerhans cells\udand keratinocytes, located in the epidermis, and dendritic cells\udand macrophages, located in the dermis, in this cascade.
