— The phases in amalgams prepared from alloys of varying zinc content and with varying alloy‐to‐mercury ratios have been determined by means of X‐ray diffraction. By measuring lattice constants of the phases in these amalgams it has been established that the major part of the zinc, is dissolved in the γ 1 phase.
