— The quaternary system Ag‐Cu‐Sn‐Zn has been investigated in the region Ag 64–72, Cu 0–6, Sn 22–32, Zn 0–6 weight‐% using X‐ray diffraction, metallographic and electron microprobe technique. The presence of a phase with γ‐brass structure (Cu 5 Zn 8 ) containing about 45% Cu, 27% Zn, 18% Sn and 10% Ag was detected.
