Twinning in γ‐crystals of the silver‐mercury system

– This X‐ray diffraction study of γ(Ag‐Hg)‐crystals formed by the reaction between an aqueous solution of silver nitrate and mercury has shown that the crystals are twinned and that the most common form of twinning can be described either as a reflection across the cubic (2)‐plane or as a 180° rotation around the [2]‐direction.
