– The plaque‐inhibiting capacity of glycerophosphate and phytic acid was studied in vivo in a group of 16 students. Both agents appeared to reduce plaque formation to a certain extent, phytic acid being the more efficient of the two. The results may support the view that phytic acid competes with organic plaque material on the tooth surface.
