– A fixation device was designed for studying the reproducibility of the depth of vestibular sulcus impressions of edentulous jaws. The device was tested on five edentulous persons, in each of which five frontal impressions were taken with a single brand of zinc oxide‐eugenol paste. The results of the measurements indicate that with tiie described equipment it was possible, with a probability of 95 %, to retake a frontal vestibular sulcus impression with an accuracy of ± 1.2 mm.
