The microgasometric method was used for determination of MAO activity in single odontoblasts isolated from rat and man. By using tyramine as a substrate, the presence of MAO in these cells was demonstrated. Both molecular forms of MAO, MAO A and MAO B, were found using specific inhibitors clorgyline and deprenyl.
