. On the basis of 48 patients wilh leukoplakia on the floor of the mouth, the study has shown that (1) of thc patients with leukoplakias i n this location, two‐thirds are female, as opposed to a ratio of onc‐third females for other locntions, (2) the habit of cheroot smoking is often associated with the floor of the mouth Icukoplnkia, (3) 6% of the 36 biopsics exhibited epithelial atypia, and (4) the floor of the mouth leukoplakias should not be coiisidcred epithelial nevi.
