Gestational diabetes mellitus was diagnosed retrospectively in a ten‐year‐old female cynomolgus monkey. The mother developed severe purulent group A streptococcal metritis resulting in fetal sepsis. After parturition, the mother died from signs consistent with hemolytic uremic syndrome.
