In 9 of our 18 patients with Di Guglielmo's syndrome, bone‐marrow studies revealed erythroblasts which had phagocytized erythrocytes. It seems justified to conclude that the presence of erythroblasts showing erythrophagocytic activity provides strong evidence in support of the assumption that these cells are malignant.
