ADP‐induced aggregation (primary and secondary) of platelet‐rich plasma from uraemic subjects did not differ significantly from that of normal individuals. Biphasic aggregation occurred in 13 of 14 uraemic patients and in 11 of 14 normal subjects. The optimal concentration of ADP‐required to demonstrate secondary aggregation was 1 μ molar. It is postulated that the normal response to ADP of platelets from uraemic subjects observed in this study resulted from the addition of optimal amounts of calcium to the platelet‐rich plasma.
