A family with depressed ATP‐ase activity in erythrocytes is examined. The deficiency was in some members of the family accompanied by non‐sperocytic haemolytic anaemia. Biochemical investigations indicate that digoxin‐sensitive ATP‐ase is reduced, in some cases to zero in presumably homozygotes. It is concluded that the ATP‐ase deficiency is probably due to reduced synthesis of the K, Na, Mg‐stimulated ATP‐ase.
