The purpose of the investigation was to elucidate possible changes in coagulation and fibrinolysis during induced dehydration with Furosemide in 11 normal individuals. The 7 were followed before and for 31/2–4 hours after 80 mg. Furosemide perorally, the last 4 were control patients examined similarly, but with placebo instead of Furosemide. The following changes were observed in all the test subjects: 1. Significant increase in the fibrinolytic activity of plasma euglobulin 11/2–2 hours after Furosemide. 2. Significant increase in plasminogen and fibrinogen concentration. 3. Slight, not significant, increase in urokinase inhibitor. No changes in plasmin inhibitor.
