57 Co‐labelled vitamin B 12 bound to transcobalamin I, transcobalamin II or non‐protein bound, has been mixed with serum from patients with pernicious anaemia treated with long acting vitmain B 12 preparations. By paper electrophoresis, immunoelectrophoresis and Sephadex G‐200 gel filtration, an antibody of the γG‐globulin type reacting with transcobalamin II was demonstrated. By immunoelectrophoresis the antibody was demonstrated in 8 of 19 patients. Gel filtration experiments showed that the affinity of the antibody to TC II is very sensitive to changes in pH, ionic strength and temperature.
