Langvatn lake is a large waterfilled kettle hole in glaciofluvial deposits developed during the last deglaciation. The main outflow from the lake occurs by percolation through the permeable sediments at the shoreline. The sedimentary rocks and sediments (calcite bearing) within the watershed influence the quality of the lake waters.
