Cutaneous teratomas, arising from 3 germinal layers, are extremely rare and must be distinguished from dermoid cysts and other dysembryoplasias. An exceptional case of cutaneous cystic teratoma is described in which respiratory epithelium and thyroid, muscle and nervous tissues were noteworthy features. After discussing the differential diagnosis, and based on the presence of multiple cystic cavities, well‐differentiated tissues, the congenital onset, the localization and evolution, it is concluded that the tumor was benign in nature.
