A case report of the clinically successful management of an intrabony pocket associated with a periodontal abscess of a lone‐standing, functioning mandibular canine utilizing an autogenous, intraoral site cortical and cancellous bone graft concurrently with a lateral pedicle soft tissue graft is presented. The rationale for the diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic considerations is discussed in light of the experimental and observational knowledge gained from the literature to date.
