The great sociomedical interest which attaches to the clinical manifestations, treatment and prognosis of traumatic brain lesions has prompted us to publish the following report on the symptomatology of such lesions, with special reference to the relation between clinical manifestations and electro-encephalographic findings. The series considered consists of all patients with fresh head injuries admitted to the Department of Neurology of Frederiksberg Hospital during the years 1955 and 1956 and is thus relatively representative. Similar case materials have previously been described by Dalsgaard-Nielsen ( 1946) and Dalsgaard-Nielsen and Hertz (1951).
