High‐dose dietary myo ‐inositol supplementation does not alter the ischaemia phenomenon in human diabetics

Five diabetic patients and 3 non‐diabetics were subjected to a dietary supplement of 20 g per day of myo ‐inositol (40 × the normal ingestion) for 14 days. This amount neither produced toxic side‐effects nor changed the peripheral nervefunction expressed by motor conduction velocity or resistance to ischaemia.
