Sex pheromone production from male boll weevils fed on cotton squares (floral buds) and fed on a currently used artificial diet were compared. Square‐fed weevils produced more pheromone during the summer months while artificial diet‐fed weevils produced more of these compounds during the fall and winter months. RÉSUMÉ Production de phéromones sexuelles par les mâles d 'Anthonomus grandis élevés sur carrés de coton et régime artificiel Cette étude compare la production de phéromones sexuelles des mâles d'Anthonomus grandis de 1 à 10 jours élevés sur carrés de coton et sur un régime artificiel habituel. Le pic de production de phéromones se produit en juin, juillet, août et septembre pour les anthonomes nourris avec du coton et en octobre, novembre et décembre ches les insectes nourris sur régime artificiel. Les minimum avaient lieu pour les insectes nourris sur coton en janvier et février, contre mars, avril, mai et juin pour ceux élevés sur régime artificiel.
