PERFORMANCE OF MYZUS PERSICAE AND PRODUCTION OF ITS HOST PLANT, BRASSICA RAPA , RELATED TO PLANT MINERAL NUTRITION

The effect of different proportions of N and K in the mineral nutrition of the turnip, Brassica rapa , on the choice of a host plant by alate Myzus persicae and the development of their colonies has been studied. The ponderal yields of the infested plants and their total free amino acid contents have also been evaluated. The results show that a high proportion of N and a low proportion of K are suboptimal for the plants but favour the development of the aphid colonies and the selection of the plant by alate Myzus persicae.RÉSUMÉ DÉVELOPPEMENT DE MYZUS PERSICAE ET PRODUCTION DE SA PLANTE‐HÔTE , BRASSICA RAPA, EN RELATION AVEC LA NUTRITION MINÉRALE DE LA PLANTE On a étudié l'effet de proportions différentes de N et de K dans la nutrition minérale de Brassica rapa sur le choix de la plante‐hote par des Myzus persicae ailés et sur le développement de leurs colonies. On a aussi évalué le rendement des plantes infestées et leur teneur totale en acides aminés libres. Les résultate montrent qu'une proportion élevée de N et une proportion basse de K sont suboptimales pour les plantes mais favorisent le développement des colonies de pucerons et le choix de la plante‐hôte par des Myzus persicae ailés.
