The present communication investigates the microwave dielectric properties of Ca 2+ x La 8− x (SiO 4 ) 6− x (PO 4 ) x O 2 ( x = 0, 2, 4, and 6) ceramics. The ceramics have been prepared by the conventional solid state ceramic route. The compositions with x = 2 and 4 are found to be solid solutions of Ca 8 La 2 (PO 4 ) 6 O 2 and Ca 2 La 8 (SiO 4 ) 6 O 2 . The composition Ca 4 La 6 (SiO 4 ) 4 (PO 4 ) 2 O 2 ( x = 2) has good microwave dielectric properties with ε r = 13.8, Q u × f = 27 900 GHz at 8.47 GHz and τ f = ‐11 ppm/°C.
