A nitridosilicate phosphor CeSi 3 N 5 has been successfully prepared via the carbothermal reduction and nitridation method. The accurate structural parameters of single‐phased CeSi 3 N 5 were determined utilizing the Rietveld refinement process. Upon excitation at 353 nm, CeSi 3 N 5 exhibited an intense blue emission assigned to a Ce 3+ ion transition. When Tb 3+ ions were doped into the host, several Tb 3+ emission lines and a decrease in Ce 3+ emission were observed. Energy transfer from Ce 3+ to Tb 3+ resulted in a color shift from blue to greenish blue. The color‐tunable CeSi 3 N 5 :Tb 3+ phosphors to be used in ultraviolet light‐emitting diodes were developed by modulating the Tb 3+ concentrations.
