Specific heat measurements have been made on Se 80− x Te 20 Ag x ( x =0, 3, 5, 7, and 9) glassy alloys using differential scanning calorimetry technique. The thermodynamic behavior of these glassy alloys have been studied by analyzing the temperature dependence of the entropy difference (Δ S ), enthalpy difference (Δ H ), and Gibbs free energy difference (Δ G ) from the glass to crystalline phase of these alloys. An effort has also been made to determine the stability of these glasses using the data obtained from the different thermodynamic quantities. This study reveals that the stability of the samples increases with the increase in silver (Ag) content in the investigated series of the glass alloys.
