In the present work, barium phosphate glasses codoped with Dy 3+ –Eu 3+ ions are prepared and their photoluminescence properties are studied by the excitation and emission spectra. The dependence of emission spectra on the concentrations of Eu 3+ and Dy 3+ is discussed with respect to the energy transfer (ET) process from Dy 3+ to Eu 3+ ions and relevant ET mechanism was proposed.
