The effects of Nd 2 Ti 2 O 7 additive on the microstructure and mechanical properties of 8‐mol%‐yttria‐doped fully stabilized zirconia (8Y‐FSZ) ceramics were investigated. The Nd 2 Ti 2 O 7 secondary phase was able to coexist with the 8Y‐FSZ matrix, and the fracture toughness of the 8Y‐FSZ ceramics was significantly improved by the Nd 2 Ti 2 O 7 addition.
