. Miamiensis avidus, a marine scuticociliate, undergoes microstome to macrostome transformation. This process is induced by prey ciliates. the morphogenesis of this process was examined using scanning electron microscopy and light microscopy of quantitative protargol‐stained specimens. Several stages are identified and described.
