SYNOPSIS.Nosema algerae , a microsporidan parasite of mosquitoes, can infect pig kidney cell cultures. Spores germinated in the culture medium, infected the cells within 30 min of germination, multiplied, and produced spores. The early developmental stages in the N. algerae life cycle are described.
