SYNOPSIS Three mutant strains of Chlamydomonas reinhardi were isolated which are negatively phototactic under all conditions tested. Tetrad analysis indicated that these represent three separate, nuclear mutations. Two mutant genes are linked; the third is on a separate chromosome. At least two of the loci appear relatively far from their centromere(s).
