SYNOPSIS. New observations are described which confirm the synonymy of Triboliocystis garnhami Dissanaike with Farinocystis tribolii Weiser. The original descriptions have been amplified and combined, and the parasite is shown to have 2 distinct schizogonic cycles, the 2nd of which gives rise to uninucleate gametocytes. After association, the gametocytes each produce 16 gametes. The number of oocysts rarely reaches the expected 16, being usually 8 or 9. It is concluded that the parasite should retain its generic status and be placed according to Grassé's classification (2) in the family Lipotrophidae.
