SYNOPSIS.Urceolaria spinicola n. sp. is described from the sea urchin Strongylocentrotus droebachiensis at Mt. Desert Island, Maine. In the summer of 1963, it was found in abundance on the host, especially on the short spines and pedicellariae of the circumoral region and on those surrounding the periproct. It is a harmless bacterial feeder. Characteristic features are its low cylindrical form and H‐shaped macro‐nucleus, and the presence of about 25 relatively long cirri on the margin of the adhesive disc.
