In three Patagonian cavies ( Dolichotis Patagonia ) which died in Dutch zoological gardens, coccidia were found. They were determined as Eimeria dolichotis (Morini Boero & Rodriguez, 1955). Cross‐infection experiments with guinea‐pigs exclude the identity with Eimenc cmvimt .
