SYNOPSIS. A new species of naked Dinophyceae is described and the culture medium for its continued growth denned. The species is distinctive in having a posteriorly placed girdle, characteristic of the genus Katodinium (Fott, 1957), and in possessing a counterclockwise loop of the sulcus about the apex.
