SUMMARY. Great numbers of a new ameba have been collected from freshwater, lagooning, disposal tanks for citrus pulp wastes. The ameba is morphologically similar to the marine Flamella magnifica (Schaeffer, 1926), and clearly belongs to the genus. It differs sufficiently in the formation and characters of locomotor organelles, and in habitat, to be considered a separate species, Flamella citrensis n. sp.
