SUMMARY. The author proposes a new systematic division of the suborder Schizogregarina on the basis of the comparative morphology of the different stages of the life‐cycle of the different genera. Two families, Dischizae and Monoschizae, are divided into a total of 6 tribes: The Dischizae into Ophryocystinae with the genera Ophryocystis, Mattesia, Menzbieria, Lipocystis and Sawayella , and Machadoellinae with the genera Machadoella and Farinocystis; Monoschizae into the tribe Caulleryellinae with genera Caulleryella, Tipulocystis and Merogregarina , the tribe Syncystinae with the genera Syncystis and Lipotropha , the tribe Schizocystinae with the genera Schizocystis and Siedleckia and the tribe Selenidiinae with the genera Selenidium and Meroselenidium.
