Twenty‐eight patients were paced physiologically by transvenous atrioventricular electrodes since 1968. Fourteen of the twenty‐eight patients received the new modified atrioventricular electrode (Mark 11). Technical details of the electrode and recent modifications are elaborated. Pacing threshold characteristics, indications and method of introduction are discussed. (PACE, Vol. 5, March‐April, 1982)
