Electromagnetic interference is a recognized difficulty in concomitant cordiac pocing and nerve stimulation. A case is reported in which a vertebral nerve slimulator was implanted, with a transmitier anlenna distal to the right nipple. Six months later, intermiltent S‐A block with Adams‐Stokes attacks urgently necessitated cardiac pacing. The ECG lead II showed nerve stimulator potentiais of 0.75 mV. Intracardiac electrogram with unipolar electrode registered potentiais of 0,25 mV, but wilh a bipolar system no such poten‐tials were observed. A bipoiar pacing electrode was therefore implanted, with an in‐hibited pulse generator in the right pectorol area, The system functions without interference from the nerve stimulator. Various aspects of interference are dis‐cussed.
