This paper describes two statistical measures that can be applied to the analysis of the results in a discriminant analysis. These measures, similar to R 2 and R 2 in multiple regression, assess the “goodness of fit” of the model or the degree of separation established by the discriminant functions among the groups in the sample and in the population.
