Hemagglutination of antiglobulin control cells from several manufacturers, as well as cells sensitized in our own laboratory, was demonstrated in the presence of bovine albumin, normal human serum, and neutralized anti‐human serum. Macroscopic hemagglutination was inconsistently enhanced by the addition of active anti‐human serum. This protean reactivity of the reagent cells invalidates any conclusion derived from a positive antiglobulin control.
