As a part of its continual surveillance of the economic and administrative aspects of blood banking, the replacement and processing charges of the Institutional Member Banks are reported. Information for the years 1968, 1969 and 1970 was furnished by 781 member banks that have replacement or processing charges. The weighted mean processing and replacement fees were determined and reported in respect to the geographical distribution of reporting banks and the type of blood bank. The data were compared with similar information obtained in 1960.
