Positive direct antihuman globulin tests were found in 33 per cent of patients after cardiac surgery. Twenty‐one per cent of patients studied before surgery had a positive enzyme‐antiglobulin test. None of the patients had hemolytic anemia. The positive serologic tests were detected by only some commercial “broad spectrum” Coombs reagents.
