Excessively high concentrations of soluble substances which inhibit anti‐A or anti‐B have been reported previously in the sera of patients with certain disease conditions. This report describes four new cases in which sufficient soluble substance was present in a suspension of unwashed red cells to completely neutralize the antiserum used for blood group determination. The soluble antigen content of these sera was compared with that of normal sera by inhibition tests.
