A third example of blood giving no reaction with any Rh antisera was discovered in a healthy Japanese boy. The phenotype of the propositus was rh or …/…. From the family study, this propositus was considered to be the first example of a homozygote of silent Rh alleles or deleted Rh chromosomes; at least twelve family members were assumed to be heterozygotes. The parents of the propositus were first cousins.
