A simple card technic using seven drops of finger blood for rapid ABO and Rh o (D) typing was compared with the standard typing methods of the JHH Blood Bank laboratory. When performed according to instructions, the card test showed distinct, easily readable reactions that were in excellent agreement with the results obtained by the standard method. Therefore, where Rh sub‐grouping is not required, or is to be carried out subsequently on all “Rh o (D) negative” subjects, this card technic provides a useful, simple procedure suitable for field studies and all types of mass screening, since venipunctures are unnecessary, classification is rapid, and a permanent record available.
